Waiting for an Uber (Poem)

(London March 2019)

Daffodils so close to bloom,

Birds hop from one balcony to the next,

Twig-less tree branches stick out horizontally like Hogwarts broomsticks,

Higher- blue sky meanders around moving light clouds,

The cab’s around the corner now, waiting over:

Into the cab ridden by Telaki with Elton John on the speakers:

‘laughing like children, living like lovers’.
