Pranayama begins..again!

(Bath 2018)

Written before the intensive:
Looking forward to an intensive this weekend with Richard and Kirsten at BIYC.
I remember asking if I was suitable for one in 2017. No, I wasn’t, so it’s exciting for be attending some 4 years later.

Written after the intensive:
We began with a beautiful restorative yogasana practise on Friday evening. The next morning pranayama was first, asana second.
Before I really got going with Iyengar Yoga, I had a routine pranayama practise. I followed what I had been taught and it significantly uplifted me! More and more!

10 months later I was told to stop, immediately. The same teacher who said to stop, then taught me (part of a group) pranayama basics. I had dangerously skipped the basics out without knowing. Stopping at once was a major shock to my system, it was a blessing I could stay at the centre for two courses to give myself time to adjust.

Anyway, where was I? Yeah so 4 years or so of touching on pranayama practise, I now feel ready to make this a proper practise. To study the methodology. Exciting times!
